Overview
The project seeks to develop a trailhead and 480m trail to link the settlement of Tuamgraney to the existing Killaloe-Ballycuggeran-Ogonnelloe trail, thus completing a 17km rural walkway from Killaloe-Scarriff, long the shores of Lough Derg. It is envisaged that the following elements will be undertaken under the project, please note this list is not exhaustive or representative of the order of importance: a) Demolition of existing road surfaces b) Construction of a new trail c) Narrowing of hardshoulder to facilitate the construction of a new footpath along the R463 d) Excavation and earthworks e) Pavement construction f) Surface water drainage network Site Location The site of the proposed development is located on the R463 road between Tuamgraney and Ogonnelloe just 100m to the south of the centre of the village of Tuamgraney. The top of the trail begins at the Tuamgraney Castle and St. Cronins Church and runs for 500 metres in close proximity to the R463 in the direction of Ogonnelloe. The River Scarriff flows
