The Contracting Authority’s objective in publishing this RFT is to procure an Inspector to review an application for a special order(s) in respect of the North South Interconnector and all submissions received; ultimately providing the Contracting Authority with a reasoned report setting out, inter alia, their recommendation on whether the special order(s) should be granted or not. The Contracting Authority would consider the Inspector’s reasoned report when making a decision on whether or not to grant the special order(s) that has been applied for. The Inspector will also chair a public inquiry (if the Contracting Authority deems such an inquiry to be expedient) held during the course of the application for a special order(s) to afford likely affected stakeholders an opportunity to make oral submissions on the application.
