Key information
Overview
The proposed Technical Partnership is essential to support National Highways' increasing demand for high-quality analytical evidence required to inform investment decisions, shape RIS3 and future Road Investment Strategies, support scheme delivery, assess customer impacts, and demonstrate value for money. The service will provide access to specialist expertise across road safety, transport planning, economics, academia, and data analytics, enabling a more integrated and collaborative approach to delivery across the Division. Critically, it will strengthen our ability to identify and assess safety risks, evaluate the effectiveness of safety interventions, and ensure that investment decisions are underpinned by robust evidence that improves outcomes for users of the Strategic Road Network. The partnership will also support compliance with Department for Transport, HM Treasury and ORR requirements, strengthen future funding cases, and ensure National Highways can continue to deliver safe, effective and efficient investment programmes that align with government priorities and long-term strategic objectives.
