Overview
Aston University is undertaking a preliminary market engagement exercise for Project Phoenix, an integrated programme of safety-critical works within the EBRI building. The programme includes gas detection systems, Building Management System upgrades and integration, emergency power-off and life-safety works, gas store works, laboratory ventilation controls, and associated electrical, mechanical, civil and structural works. The purpose of this exercise is to obtain market feedback before the University determines the final packaging, delivery model, procurement route and contract structure. Potential options include appointing a Principal Contractor to coordinate the complete programme, procuring individual specialist packages, or adopting a combination of these approaches. To participate, click the ProContract link, review the attached Preliminary Market Engagement Exercise document and upload your completed response to the questions by 11:00am on Friday 30 October 2026. Requests for site visits, further technical information and clarification questions must be submitted through the ProContract messaging function.
