Overview
UK Sport is seeking a suitably qualified supplier to deliver its Athlete Medical Scheme, providing timely, high-quality healthcare to eligible funded athletes. Tenderers may propose a fully insured model, a trust-based model, or both. The contract will cover the administration and management of the scheme, access to an appropriate healthcare provider network, claims handling, management information and performance reporting. The contract will commence on 1 April 2027 for an initial three-year term, with the option to extend for a further year. Please see more detail in the ITT.
Renewal: The contract will be for 3 years with the option for an additional 1 year extension. No conditions attached to the 1 year extension period.

Thank you for your patience whilst we prepare responses to the clarification questions submitted as part of the Athlete Medical Scheme (AMS) procurement process. Following consideration of the volume and complexity of the questions received, UK Sport has decided to extend the period for issuing clarification responses. This will ensure that all questions are considered fully and that complete and consistent information is provided to all potential suppliers, in line with the principles of transparency, fairness and equal treatment set out within the Procurement Act. We are currently finalising the clarification response pack and expect to issue responses to all submitted questions no later than 23 October 2026. As a result, the procurement timetable will be reviewed and revised, where appropriate, to allow bidders sufficient time to consider the information provided. Updated procurement dates and any associated amendments to the process will be communicated alongside the clarification responses via Find a Tender.
