Key information
Overview
The College is seeking tenders for the supply and conversion of a mobile immersive learning vehicle to provide an accessible, flexible and interactive learning environment for learners with Additional Learning Needs and the wider College curriculum. The requirement includes the supply of a suitable vehicle, conversion and internal fit-out, installation and integration of immersive audio-visual and interactive technology, accessibility adaptations, furniture, power systems, testing, commissioning and staff training. The successful supplier will be responsible for delivering a complete, fully integrated and operational solution, including all necessary certifications, warranties and supporting documentation. The vehicle will enable learners to experience and practise real-world situations in a safe and supportive environment, supporting the development of independence, confidence, communication, life skills, employability and preparedness for everyday situations. The College requires delivery and completion within the project funding timetable, with expenditure completed by 31 March. Tenderers must therefore demonstrate that their proposed solution can be delivered, installed, commissioned and handed over within the required timeframe.
Procurement Act 2023
Preliminary market engagement was undertaken to gain a better understanding of the specialist market, available technologies and potential delivery options for the immersive learning vehicle. Discussions with suppliers helped identify the technical requirements, potential challenges and the need for collaboration between vehicle conversion specialists, and technology providers and accessibility specialists. The engagement also helped inform the specification, delivery arrangements and procurement approach, ensuring the College's requirements were realistic and achievable within the available budget and timescales. The information gathered was used to develop the tender documentation. Participation in the engagement does not provide any supplier with an advantage in the subsequent competitive tender process
