Overview

The Contractor shall appoint a designated chargehand and provide the relevant contact details. All personnel shall hold the necessary training and competencies required for the works and shall be covered under the Contractor's Company PTA, in accordance with IÉ Company Procedures. General Maintenance Plant Hire Contract for Dublin Division 1, covering Week 38 (2026) to Week 38 (2027). Works may include tamping head operations, muck digging, ballasting and sweeping, rail replacement, PC maintenance, CE maintenance, loading and unloading of materials, track upgrades within depots, and other general maintenance activities as required. Locations or work will be spread across Division 1 depending on work activities and travel distance from access points. Plant may be required at all locations/compounds/level crossings throughout Division 1. Works from Malahide to Greystones, Howth Junction Branch, Connolly, North Wall, MGWR and GSWR. Various compound locations also. Plant may be required to mobilise during night-time hours and/or travel by road to the required access points, including locations such as Ennis Lane, Greystones Sidings, Carlisle Pier/West Pier in Dún Laoghaire and Sutton Level Crossing on Howth Branch, Portmarnock, Raheny, Killester and Clongriffen on North Dart. Will also on occassion be a reqirement for plant to mobilise from Portmarnock and stable in Quarry Sidings lineside for a number of shifts before demobilisng out of Portmarnock once again. Plant may be required to relocate during the working week or from night to night, as requested by IÉ. All requirements will be drawn down from this contract as required by the business and shall be planned and notified via weekly requests in line with normal company procedures. Full ultilisation of 5 shifts per week is not guaranteed and request can vary from 1 shift to 6 shifts as required by the business to suit our SSCS and possession access available. In the event of access point change in current or subsequent weekly request, mobilisation charge will be paid (if applicable) as per IÉ Procedures and contractor will have to mobilise plant by road. RRVs movement by rails at the expense of possession time will not be facilitated and may also not be possible due to isolations available. Standard weekly requests can vary from 4 items to 10 items of plant with up to 4no excavators and 4no Dumpers plus Excavator and Tamping head for example may be required on muck digging worksites. Rail trailers will be called off also as required to assist with haulage of materials. Included attachments on Framework that will be required during this tender: - Slings and chains with all machines, - Grading buckets, digging buckets. 2ft, 4ft, 7ft, - Shackles, - Excavator Grab.
