ProRail B.V. is responsible for the Dutch railway network. This entails construction, management and safety. Our employees ensure that every day, 24/7, 1,200,000 passengers and 100,000 tons of goods reach their destinations, with 6,550 trains on over 7,000 kilometers of track. The railway network is the beating heart of mobility in the Netherlands. ProRail is working on accessibility in the Netherlands by providing an optimal railway network. We allocate capacity on the railways, control train traffic, build and manage stations and lay new tracks. ProRail Asset Management is the division responsible for the maintenance of all existing infrastructure. Rail maintenance is a core activity within this division. Nowadays, ProRail has contracted both Speno International SA and Vossloh ETS B.V. for the execution of preventive (cyclic) and corrective grinding and milling. These frame work contracts will end by 31-12-2026. From 2027 onwards, ProRail has the ambition to continue and to optimize its rail maintenance.
