Overview
Door het Centrum voor Thuisbeademing van het Erasmus MC wordt non-life-support thuisbeademingsapparatuur ingezet voor het ondersteunen van volwassen en pediatrische patiënten met chronisch ademhalingsfalen. Het betreft niet-invasieve beademingsondersteuning waarbij het apparaat druk gestuurde ademhalingsondersteuning levert en de eigen ademhaling van de patiënt ondersteunt. De apparatuur wordt toegepast bij onder andere neuromusculaire aandoeningen, thoraxwandafwijkingen, obesitas-hypoventilatiesyndroom, COPD en andere aandoeningen die leiden tot hypoventilatie, al dan niet in combinatie met obstructieve slaapapneu. Jaarlijks ca. 75 apparaten.
