Key information
Overview
The University of Groningen (RUG) intends to purchase solid-state NMR instrumentation designed for the magic-angle-spinning (MAS) NMR analysis of solid- and semi-solid materials of biological and human-made origins. After careful market research focusing on the requirements, the RUG has come to the conclusion that Bruker Biospin is the single supplier that can deliver the required MAS NMR and DNP instrumentation that meets all the requirements as described in this document. They are the only party with integrated and compatible hardware that can meet the necessary technical and design features in terms of DNP enhancement with a non-gyrotron microwave source, low- and variable-temperature capabilities, internal and external MAS rotor compatibility, and integrated HR/CP-MAS NMR with built-in automated tuning abilities. Furthermore, market research indicates that Bruker Biospin’s CMP iProbe is, as far as currently known, the only available solution that combines HR-MAS and CP-MAS analysis capabilities, while also providing the required automatic tuning functionality needed for the facility’s research workflows. If there are parties who can meet the requirements mentioned in this document as well, please respond to this market consultation before 24 May 2026. If there are no reactions, the RUG will proceed with the purchase of the solid state NMR instrumentation of Bruker Biospin without prior publication.
