The project objective is to support key local- and national counterparts in their effort to conserve the CGSM Ramsar area, by working with the coffee sector of the Fundacion and Aracataca river basin in the implementation of water efficiency and decontamination technologies, aimed at generating impact on biodiversity conservation in the area. For this purpose, the project will focus on the Fundacion and Aracataca watersheds, where the Contractor will carry out a diagnosis on the current use of water saving and decontamination technologies. This includes current use, obstacles, upstream and downstream impacts and challenges generated by the climate change scenarios in order to propose a technological improvement and/or management alternative that can support the process of scaling up water saving and decontamination technologies to protect the ecological and biodiversity-related qualities of the watershed and its essential role to the community.
