Als Teil des Starterpakets der Digitalen Schiene Deutschland (DSD) wird die Region Stuttgart mit DSTW, ETCS und ATO ausgerüstet. Dabei ist es Ziel die Strecken mit ETCS L2oS auszurüsten. Die Machbarkeit sowie der vorlaufende Entwicklungsprozess zu ETCSL2oS soll in einer Innovationskooperation zw. Projekt, DB Netz und dem Systemhersteller realisiert werden. Dieser muss zw. den verschiedenen Beteiligten koordiniert und gesteuert werden.
