Overview
The conversion of part of the former PJ Carroll's factory (Phase One) , a protected structure and the associated former boiler house building (Phase Two)into 3487 sqm of apprenticeship teaching facilities. The Works to the main factory building consist of modifying the interior, stripping out internal walls and the construction of new motor vehicle workshops, electrical workshops, classrooms and other ancillary spaces, new rollar shutters, façade works and a new mezzanine office space. The works to the former boiler house include 1. The demolition of a small service building behind the boiler house 2. Replacement of the roof with a new membrane system 3. New fall restraint and arrest systems, access 4. Removal of three obsolete boiler flues from the south elevation of the 5. The construction of a new timber store and preparation building to the south 6. Modifications to an existing small garage building and provision of new roller 7. Provision for 10 additional bike parking spaces. 8. All associated ancillary site and landscaping works.
