Key information
Overview
Community Housing carried out a procurement exercise to appoint a single provider to deliver Extra Care services across its schemes in Worcestershire. The procurement was undertaken in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023 and covered regulated personal care, emergency and unplanned response, medication support, and wellbeing services for adults aged 55 and over living in Extra Care housing. The service specification included requirements for a 24/7 on-site presence at each scheme, the delivery of planned care in line with individual support plans, and appropriate responses to emergencies. It also outlined requirements for staff training and competency, medication management, safeguarding, and compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations. TUPE arrangements were also considered as part of the procurement process. Community Housing undertook the procurement on behalf of Worcestershire County Council, which was identified as the client for the resulting contract. The procurement related specifically to Extra Care services across Community Housing's schemes, rather than wider care provision throughout Worcestershire.
